Age & Consent

← Back

Last updated: [[LAST_UPDATED]]. This policy explains the minimum age for Old District (olddistrict.com, operated by [[OPERATOR_NAME]]) and the consent that applies to younger players.

Old District is intended for players aged 14 and over. Use of the game is prohibited for anyone under the age of 14.

1. Minimum age

You must be at least 14 years old to register for and play Old District. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this requirement. We do not collect a date of birth at sign-up, so this confirmation is your responsibility; providing false information about your age is a breach of our Terms of Service.

2. Why there is an age limit

Old District is a fictional crime-themed strategy game. It includes mature themes such as organised-crime roleplay, simulated conflict between players, in-game money and features that resemble a casino using virtual currency only (no real-money gambling). It also has open chat and messaging between players. For these reasons the game is not suitable for children under 14.

3. Players aged 14 to 18 (parental consent)

If you are at least 14 but under the age of majority in your country (usually 18), you may use Old District only with the knowledge and agreement of a parent or legal guardian, where local law requires it. We encourage parents and guardians to:

  • review these policies, including the Privacy Policy;
  • be aware that the game allows chat and optional purchases of virtual credits through PayPal;
  • supervise any spending, since payments are made through the account holder’s PayPal.

4. Consent to data processing

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Under the GDPR, the digital-consent age set by national law varies between countries (typically 13 to 16). Where a player is below the digital-consent age that applies to them, the consent of a parent or legal guardian is required, and by allowing the child to use the game the parent or guardian is taken to provide that consent. If you are a parent or guardian and do not consent, please ensure the child does not use the game.

5. Age checks and removal of under-age accounts

We do not actively verify age, but if we learn or reasonably believe that a user is under 14, we may suspend or close the account and delete the associated personal data. If you believe a child under 14 is using the game, or has given us their data, contact us at [email protected] and we will act promptly.

6. Withdrawing consent

A player, or a parent or guardian acting for a younger player, can withdraw consent at any time by closing the account in settings or by e-mailing [email protected]. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place, and some data may be retained where the law requires it.

7. Changes and contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be shown by a new “Last updated” date above. For any question about age or consent, contact [email protected].
