Last updated: [[LAST_UPDATED]]. These Terms of Service
(“Terms”)
form a binding agreement between you and Old District
(olddistrict.com, operated by [[OPERATOR_NAME]],
“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the game you accept these Terms, our
EULA, our Privacy Policy and our
Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the game.
Old District is strictly for players aged 14 or over. It is prohibited for anyone under 14. If you are between 14 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf where that is required by local law. Full details are in our Age & Consent Policy.
Old District is a crime-themed fictional game. In-game roleplay is fiction. Regardless, you agree not to:
Freedom of Expression: We guarantee freedom of expression up to a reasonable point. However, each player is solely responsible for their own actions, words, and conduct within the game.
User-Uploaded Images and Content: You are strictly responsible for any images (such as avatars or team logos) you choose to use. You must not use images that belong to famous brands and are protected by copyright, nor images depicting real-world figures associated with war crimes, terrorism, or other severe atrocities.
Limitation of Responsibility: The game administrator, the owner, and the management team are not responsible for the behavior of any player, nor are they liable for any copyright or intellectual property infringements committed by users. Every player assumes full legal and personal responsibility for what they post or upload.
Your responsibility to cover claims: to the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator, the owner, administrators and staff against any claims, damages, losses or costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party and arising from content you upload or post, your use of the game, or your breach of these Terms, including any claim that your content infringes another person’s rights.
Cooperation with Law Enforcement: In the event of a violation of any national or international laws, we are legally obligated to cooperate fully with judicial and law enforcement authorities. Upon their official request, we will provide any necessary identification data and user information to assist in their investigations.
We may remove content and take action on accounts that break these rules (see section 6).
We may issue warnings, in-game fines, temporary jail, suspend or permanently ban an account, and remove content, where we reasonably believe these Terms or the EULA have been broken, or where necessary to protect the game, its players or us. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to permanent termination without refund of unused virtual credits. You may close your account at any time in your settings or by contacting us.
The game, its name, code, graphics, text and design are owned by [[OPERATOR_NAME]] or its licensors and are protected by law. You receive only the limited licence described in the EULA. Any content you submit (for example chat messages) remains yours, but you grant us a licence to host, display and moderate it as needed to run the game.
Reporting infringing content: if you believe an avatar, logo or other user content on the game infringes your intellectual-property rights, tell us at [email protected]. Include a description of the work you say is infringed, a link to or description of the content in question, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf. We will review valid reports and remove or disable access to content we find to be infringing.
We host user content but do not review it in advance and are not obliged to do so. We act on valid reports and may remove any content at our discretion under these Terms.
We work to keep the game available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, or the whole game, at any time, and we may perform maintenance without notice.
The game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of virtual items or progress, or losses arising from events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
These Terms are governed by [[GOVERNING_LAW]], and disputes are subject to [[JURISDICTION]], without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence. EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be shown by a new “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, announced in the game. Questions go to [email protected].
